How the ride to Munich Airport works

With a flight, timing is everything. When you book, tell us your departure time and terminal if you know it. We suggest a pickup time with a reserve for check-in, security and traffic. The driver arrives at the agreed time and waits with a sign showing your name. Waiting is free until you come out.

Route, timing and stops on the way

The driver takes the A8 from Salzburg towards Munich and then the ring road to the airport, about 180 km in total. In normal traffic it takes around 2 hours. Fridays, Sundays and the start and end of school holidays are busier, and we take that into account when we suggest the pickup time.

Need a stop, for example to buy something before the flight or to drop off a key? Tell us when booking and we plan it in. If you are starting further out, in Hallstatt or a ski resort, we can pick you up there and drive straight to MUC.

Car, train, coach or taxi to the airport

By public transport you usually travel into Munich first and then out to the airport, which means at least one change. That is fine for a light traveller with time to spare. With a family, ski bags or a dawn flight, carrying everything through stations is the hard part of the journey.

Coaches have fixed departures, so you may arrive at the airport much earlier than you need to, or have to leave at an awkward time.

A taxi on the meter over 180 km is hard to budget. A booked transfer gives you a fixed price for the car and a pickup time that fits your flight, not a timetable.
