The border: what to know

Queues at the Rava-Ruska - Hrebenne crossing range from half an hour to several hours, especially at weekends and on holidays. Leave early if you are heading to a flight or a train. Car passengers are checked together with the driver, without a full bus inspection. Rules for leaving Ukraine, including for men, are set by the State Border Guard Service: check your documents before the trip.

Bus, train or transfer

Trains and dozens of buses run from Lviv to Warsaw, but seats for the dates you need are often sold out. A transfer leaves when it suits you, through the Rava-Ruska crossing and along the S17.

Which car to choose

A sedan or crossover suits 1-3 passengers with normal luggage. The Mercedes Vito takes up to 6 people and more suitcases. The Mercedes V-Class Recliner with reclining seats and a table is ideal for a long drive or a business trip. Child seats on request.
