Leave early if you are heading to a flight or a train. Car passengers are checked together with the driver, without a full bus inspection. Rules for leaving Ukraine, including for men, are set by the State Border Guard Service: check your documents before the trip.

Bus, train or transfer

There is no direct train from Lviv to Vienna and the bus takes more than 15 hours. A transfer goes through Poland and Czechia or through Transcarpathia and Hungary, depending on where the border queue is shorter.
