Malinô Brdo is a popular ski resort in the Veľká Fatra mountains, right above the town of Ružomberok in northern Slovakia. It is part of the Ski Park Ružomberok area and is known for its well-groomed pistes, a modern gondola, snow-making and great views of the Liptov region. The resort suits families, intermediate skiers and anyone looking for a relaxed weekend on the slopes.
One of its biggest advantages is accessibility: a gondola runs from the edge of Ružomberok up to the ski area, so you do not have to drive the mountain road at all. Below you will find the main ways to get there.
By car or private transfer
Ružomberok lies on the main road and motorway corridor between Bratislava and Poprad, which makes it easy to reach by car. Approximate distances and travel times:
approx. 260 km, around 2.5 to 3 hours via the D1 motorway.
approx. 320 km, around 3.5 hours.
approx. 160 km, around 3 hours via the Polish-Slovak border.
approx. 90 km, around 1 hour.
A private transfer can drop you at the lower gondola station or at your hotel up on the mountain. If you are landing in Vienna or Bratislava, see our Bratislava ski resort transfers; for flights into Poland, check our Krakow ski resort transfers.

By train
Ružomberok has a railway station on the main line across northern Slovakia, with direct trains from Bratislava taking approximately 3 hours. From the station, you can take a local bus or taxi to the gondola base station, which is a short ride away. This is one of the easiest Slovak ski resorts to reach by train.
By bus
Long-distance buses also stop in Ružomberok, connecting it with Bratislava, Žilina and other Slovak cities. As with the train, you will need a short local transfer to the gondola. Check current timetables before travelling, especially at weekends.

By taxi
Local taxis in Ružomberok are handy for the short hop from the station to the gondola or to a mountain hotel. For longer routes from an airport, a pre-booked private transfer is usually more convenient.
