Igls is a charming village on a sunny plateau just above Innsbruck, at the foot of the Patscherkofel. This mountain hosted alpine events at the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, and today it offers varied slopes, a modern cable car and wonderful views over the Inn valley and the city. Igls is also known for its bobsleigh and luge track, one of the most famous in the world.

Because it is so close to Innsbruck, Igls is ideal for a city-and-ski break or a relaxed family holiday. Here is how to get there.
