Everything you need before the trip

Door to door from Bratislava to Hallstatt

We pick you up at your hotel or address in Bratislava, or at Bratislava Airport right after landing, and drive you straight to Hallstatt. About 350 km, around 4 hours, no changes.

By train and bus the trip takes 5–6 hours with two or three changes: to Vienna, on to Attnang-Puchheim, the local train to Hallstatt station and then the ferry across the lake. By car you get in once and get out at the edge of the old town.

Motorway tolls and the Austrian vignette are included in the price.

Arriving at Bratislava Airport

Flights from Tel Aviv, London, Rome and many other cities land at Bratislava Airport. The driver tracks your flight, meets you in arrivals with a name sign and waits for free if the flight is late.

Stops on the way

The road follows the A1 motorway past Melk Abbey and runs through the Salzkammergut lakes. Tell us where you want to stop for coffee, photos or a short walk and we plan it into the trip.

Popular stops: Melk Abbey on the Danube, Gmunden on Lake Traunsee, Bad Ischl, and St. Wolfgang or St. Gilgen if you want to see more lakes.

Day trip or return transfer

Hallstatt can be done in one day from Bratislava: about 8 hours on the road and 3–4 hours in the village. The driver waits and drives you back the same evening.

Car access to the old town is limited. The driver drops you at the parking area at the edge of the village, a few minutes on foot from the market square, or at your hotel if it gives guests an entry permit.

In winter we drive on winter tyres and take skis: the Krippenstein cable car on the Dachstein is about 10 minutes from Hallstatt.
