Liechtenstein Castle (Burg Liechtenstein) stands on a rocky hill at the edge of the Vienna Woods in Maria Enzersdorf, just south of Vienna. Built in the 12th century, it is the ancestral seat of the House of Liechtenstein, the family that later gave its name to the principality between Austria and Switzerland. The castle was damaged during the Ottoman sieges and restored in the 19th century in a romantic style. Today it is a popular spot for guided tours, walks and photos.

The castle is approximately 20 km from central Vienna. Here is how to get there.
