Srdiečko is the main base on the southern side of Chopok, the highest skiable mountain in the Low Tatras. Together with the northern side, it forms Jasná Nízke Tatry, the largest ski resort in Slovakia. Skiers love Chopok South for its sunny slopes, long wide runs and a calmer atmosphere than the busier north side.

Slopes and lifts
From Srdiečko, lifts climb via Kosodrevina towards the Chopok summit at just over 2,000 metres. The southern pistes are mostly red and blue, with long cruising runs that suit intermediate skiers and confident beginners. There are also easier slopes near the base station, ski schools and equipment rental.
From the top of Chopok you can ski down to the north side of Jasná, which offers more varied terrain including black runs and freeride zones. One lift pass covers both sides, so you can easily spend the morning in the south sun and the afternoon in the north.
By car or private transfer
Srdiečko lies above the village of Bystrá, north of Brezno. Approximate distances and travel times:

By train, bus and taxi
The nearest railway station is Brezno, reachable from Bratislava with a change. From Brezno, regional buses run to Bystrá and, in season, up to Srdiečko, though services are limited. Taxis from Brezno or Banská Bystrica are useful for the final stretch.
