Pezinská Baba is a small ski resort in the Little Carpathians, just a short drive from Bratislava. It lies at a mountain pass above the town of Pezinok, known for its vineyards and wine cellars. The resort is a favourite with Bratislava locals for a quick half-day of skiing, evening sessions under floodlights and first lessons for children.

Do not expect a big Alpine area: Pezinská Baba has a handful of slopes, mostly easy and intermediate, served by drag lifts and a chairlift. Its biggest advantage is proximity, as you can be on the snow in well under an hour from the capital.

Slopes and conditions

The pistes are short to medium in length and suit beginners, families and anyone who wants to warm up before a bigger trip to the Tatras or the Alps. Because the altitude is relatively low, conditions depend on the weather, and the resort relies on snow-making. It is best to check the current status before travelling, especially early or late in the season.
